Motorcycles are more efficient

Some do ~3l/100km. That's very efficient.

Even 3l/100km is not efficient at all when you consider that it almost weight 400lbs, no trunk, only to passenger and not weather proof. Smart CDI do 3.5l/km

Well the drag coefficient of motorcycles is not good when compared to cars. That explains it to a certain extent. Then, it's so cheap to ride a bike that the manufacturers are not pressurized into integrating turbocharging, direct injection and cam phasing like they are with cars.

Motorcycle consumes nonetheless very little gasoline compared to cars. There is room for improvement, but a 25% fuel consumption reduction is actually down below the buyers' wishlist.
